Wedding ceremonies are a very grand occasion for everybody in the world, but when it comes to Pakistani weddings are grand especially when it’s the first in a family.
Everything is grand from invitation cards to the menu and everything in between. These are really stressful times for the host be it the bride side or the team groom.
This is just one side of the story, the other side is of people invited. Depending on the background of the family size, the previous history of gifts all needs consideration.
Oh, there is one more important factor and that is the aunties in the family, this has to be figured out what phupos and khalas are going to gift.
Giving gifts is crucial to keep good terms within the family and maintaining respect and family ties. One’s gift has to be better, expensive and unique similar to the dress they are wearing because this will be the talk of the house for the next few days and very important when there is a wedding in the family of the person giving the gift.
Dialogues would be of these types.
“uss ney tou yeh diya thaa”
“mein beh aisa hee kuch doun gee”
“aray who merey boss ka baita hai usko tou acha daye na hoga”
if the gift is below the par value as expected then these are the type of dialogues one will get to hear.
“bari phupo tou buhut kanjoos hein”
“aray uska husband to multinational mien achi position mein haye phir beh yeh diya”
Advice: either avoid such families or match the gifting standards to survive.
